Erin Lee Schneider, J.D. serves as Dean of Student Success and Urban Student Development at Des Moines Area Community College. She previously served as Assistant Dean for Student Services at Drake University Law School, where she was recognized as a Drake Public Service Scholar.A first-generation college student, Erin earned her Bachelor of Arts from Iowa State University and her Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School. Before transitioning to higher education, she practiced family law, bringing that experience into more than a decade of work in postsecondary student success.Erin is an active community leader, serving on the Ankeny Community School District Board of Education and the statewide Attorney Grievance Commission. Her academic and professional interests focus on the impact of poverty on access to education and justice. She is especially committed to advancing wellbeing among attorneys, faculty, staff, and students, and regularly presents on topics related to wellbeing, efficiency, and equitable access.
