About me
Kathy Houghton is the Executive Director of Literacy New York and the director of Literacy NY’s NY State Education Department-funded Rest of State Support and Technical Assistance Center (STAC). Unique to NY State, the STAC builds capacity and offers support to community-based and volunteer adult literacy agencies across the state. Prior to becoming Literacy NY's Executive Director, Kathy was the Director of Program Services for Literacy NY for 12 years. Kathy has over twenty years of experience in the adult education field. She is a national trainer for the Literacy Information and Communications System (LINCS), a national organization created to support adult education practitioners. Kathy holds a B.A. from Skidmore College and an M.A. from the University of North Florida. Kathy has been presenting workshops in Iowa for more than 10 years, and looks forward to conference every summer!
