About me
Melissa Roper is an ESL Programmer with Iowa Lakes Community College, specializing in English as a Second Language (ESL) and also working with the High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) programs. She has worked with learners from PreK through adulthood and spent six years teaching English to college students in China. Melissa is passionate about helping adult learners achieve their educational goals through innovative instruction, student-centered programming, and community partnerships. Her experience includes curriculum development, adult literacy, workforce preparation, and supporting diverse learners as they build language, academic, and life skills. She is committed to creating welcoming learning environments that empower students to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
